After you spoke, I went to this story about Rodney several times in my mind. As I looked for parallels in my own life, it struck me that I'd made a transition away from that trap some years back. At the time, I was giving some of the credit for my own turn-around to the play, "Waiting For Godot" by Samuel Beckett. The play has been interpreted to mean many things to different people. But your message here is quite clear, and should be understood by all that will take the time to read it. I remember you telling this story live. I saw that in your book, and in your speech. Your encouragement to find the humor, and to find that for which we are grateful is appreciated. Those who choose not to do that will face some difficulty with finding their inner peace. And to learn to forgive others, a person my often need to first learn to forgive themselves. Worth. It was kind of a dull evening and we sat on a bench at the corner. I got in one of my moods when someone tried to park in front of the fireplug. I told them if they would give me Five bucks and their keys i would keep their car safe. People would almost do it. This went on for hours, we had folks standing around almost rolling on the sidewalk. I even had three bikers starting to open there billfolds. Then one said is this like Canidad Carmara or something. I couldn't let it pass, I said yes, look up at the window across the street and wave and smile. They did, we walked away and left them there. The whole place was in a uproar. I have never had so much fun for free. And my brother-in-law, who never laughs had tears rolling down his face. Fun is where you make it! I am moved by the message and agree. Life right now is uncertain and scarry, and felt hopeless. After hearing the recording of Mr. Rizzo at the Melaleuca Convention my heart feels lighter, and after practicing the two "Incredible Intangibles" my attitude towards life is changing. I am learning to shift. Now finding this article brings it even closer to my heart. I am going to share this article with my children, first with my oldest who is getting nervous about going to college next fall.
